Al & Beth Denninger were chosen to craft a custom finial for former
President and Senator Clinton's residence in Chappaqua, NY. On Saturday,
February 16th, 2002, Al and the builder installed the grand rooftop decoration
on their newly renovated house. What a way to celebrate Presidents Weekend!
The brightly polished custom copper finial crowns the new breakfast wing. The
Clintons and the architect chose a Denninger design with traditional styling,
to suit the Dutch Colonial Revival architecture. Al specially designed a cap
that would also provide necessary ventilation for the octagonal roof, making
sure all the proportions enhanced the home. The Clintons were very pleased with
this finishing touch for their breakfast room. Senator Clinton happily
exclaimed, "Oh, it's so beautiful. It's just like we planned."
President Clinton suggested that the builder take a photo of the Clintons and
Al in front of his beautiful work, to commemorate the event.
